The "Wild West" page is about my theme project for 2005.
Focussing on this project means that I will build and paint as much as possible that is related to the Wild West theme.
In February 2005 I visited friends where I learned to play "Wanted: Dead or Alive". A great and very simple table top game
that was explained to me in less then 10 minutes and from there played smoothly.
Since the game is so much fun and since I had the privilege to play on a game table with scenery made by scenery builder
and miniature painter Axel Muller-Hein and could used the highly detailed painted miniatures of miniature painter Tom Weiss,
this game was an instant hit!
So moving away from the more fantasy related area I now focus on 1900 Western era, starting with the building of some scenery pieces
for my "Boomville" project.
"Boomville"
Boomville will be a little western town that consist mainly out of a big crossing of 2 streets.
On the corners of this big crossing we can find the Saloon/Hotel, The Casino, The Court House and the Major House. All these buildings
Have in comment that they have a first stock. The other buildings only have ground floors. In total 12 housing projects will be made.
A project could be just one house but could also be a compilation of two or three buildings attached.
Besides the housing there will be walls, fences, sheds, outhouses etc. And then there are the miniatures.
Along with the scenery stuff I will paint my gang of Wild West scum and will post my progress whenever there is progress.
Besides the gunslingers I will add more town like scenery as well like wagons, crates and townsfolk.
Ok enough chit chat let get to work!
The Saloon |
| "The Saloon" is the first of the four larger buildings within Boomville. A place full of entertainment and
where whiskey rules. On the first floor there are three hotelrooms and on top its own private water reservoir. |
The Casino |
| "The Casino" is the second of the four larger buildings within Boomville. The small building attached to
it is the liquor store. The owner has his private quarters on the first floor with his office right above the liquor store. |
The Watertower |
| The Watertower is set at the edge of town near the railway. Although it is not an actual building, it is a strategic
object because of its height. |
The Small Items |
| This is a collection of smaller objects that can be found within the town. Sheds, Fences, Outhouses
and Ruined buildings. |
The WIld West Miniatures |
| We can not have a Western Town without mean gunslingers and lowlife scum so I better start painting some
of these "Cool hands" and "Young Guns" as well. |
The Tools |
| Tools that are essential for making the projects as well as the material. |
