The Jetty:

The jetty extension is the fifth part in the dock series. The idea of this extension is to be able to let ships dock facing land or sea.

The base of the jetty is the same as a regular straight dock element. The actual jetty itself sticks 25 cm out into the sea.

There are no pictures of the actual cutting process since the techniques on the dock elements are all alike. The only difference is that I made a temporary mold from which I cast the rough form and worked my way from there.

The jetty part can be used as a single dock piece but I made some additional items to dress it up.

I made a small circular palisade structure that can be place in front of the end of the jetty. The idea is that the poles protect the pier itself in case of unforeseen collisions.
I also made bundles of poles that can be placed alongside the jetty for docking purposes.
Finally I extended the walkway section by adding a corner piece and a stairway piece the can be placed in different ways.
