The Displays page is a collection of models that are more suited for being displayed in a showcase as for using them
into tabletop games. It is a nice change now and then, painting them after having painted some regiments for your army.
Please click on the images to enlarge them.
Most of the displays are (and will be) models from the “Awesome miniatures” line. They released about 20 displays and a
complete range of lords and ladies that are connected to king Arthur’s round table. Since I have all these models, I hope
to expand this page in time.
"Dead man's chest"
A display from “Awesome Miniatures”. This company made an impressive range of little displays that are very detailed.
Most of the displays have catchy names that need not any explanation. See for your self. If you like details then this
is a nice challenge. Just look at all the fun stuff on the floor
“Hippogrif Rescue”
The display says it all but for one thing that I’m really proud of the tattoo on her behind.
A real fun piece to paint. The model however is very fragile. If not supported well, the Hippogriff will eventually bend
his legs. (weak ankles I guess)
“The Summoning”
Again a story of its own. The part I like is the lava kind of paint job I did in between the tiles. I tried to simulate this
monster being called from hell where fires burn severe. The glow of the fire reflects on the monster’s body.
The wizard is dressed in light colors where the cloak is dark colored. In this way he stands out more.
“The visit”
If I’m not mistaken it’s a Ral Pharta model (please correct me if I’m wrong). Painted somewhere in the early 90’s.
I tried to turn this model in a little display that might give you the impression that Gandalf is visiting Bilbo in the
Shire. OK I know he does that on a cart really, but nevertheless I liked making it this way. Since there is a path/stairway
like trail uphill, this really looks like a private landings spot for this dragon. I wonder if someone’s home.
The hill is modeled out of ordinary clay, spray painted black, painted in other colors where needed and static grass was added.
