THE CONVERSIONS

The Conversions page show some of my attempts to alter some of my models, more to my liking. The question is; “What counts as a conversion?” To bend an arm, to twist a leg, to redirect a weapon. Are these examples conversions too? I think I stick with alterations that are a bit more then just bending things in other directions.

Snotling Stockcar:

The Snotling Stockcar is a tricycle that I made when being in a funny mood (I Guess) We were debating about a Dwarf tricycle racing team as a sort of heavy cavalry in one of our tabletop battles. When I was with friends, for a painting session I decided to empty my bits box and started playing around with all kinds of loose items. The Snotling itself triggered the idea of a tricycle. The base is made from a Ballista frame. The wheels are from Orcen war chariots. The headlights from again a ballista like model. The frame work are from a Dwarfen Girocopter. The exhaustion pipes are arms of Chaos monsters. The snotling is from the pumpwagon also is his steering wheel. Sitting on a shield and one in his back (behind the Goblin flag) raps it all up I guess.

High Elven Horn Blower:

As for painting series of exactly the same models, I dislike painting them all identically. Sometimes I alter things like in this case I altered the horn of this High Elf horn blower. The single horn was bend a bit to the side and flattened from the inside. After that I modeled another horn on to it. The result is a double horn that looks natural in a way that nobody noticed it as being a conversion. (Gosh I’m sad)

Standard Bearer:

This Standard Bearer is actually a commander belonging to a Ballista. Normally he’s heaving a sword in his hand but unfortunately I had to disarm him. I cut his hand off and put it back on in a more upright way so it was more suited for holding a banner pole. The pole itself was borrowed from another elf that didn’t mind. The sword in this case wasn’t totally lost, I putted it on top of the new banner.
