The "Projects" page shows all kind
of scenic structures I've made over the years for 25mm table
top games. Being more a builder then a player I rarely use my projects
in table top games. I do however enjoy seeing people play using my scenery pieces
and as long as this is the case I will keep on building scenery.
"The Amsterdam Canal Project" |
| Quite a challeging project since the scope of this project is not a sole object but an entire skyline.
The Amsterdam Canal shows a series of unique facades, waterfront pieces and ships. |
"The Outhouse series" |
| I recently picked up sculpting again. To get the back the fine skills I started to do some small
projects to train myself again in sculpting stone and wood structures. I also tried to sculpt fine details.
I simply started sculpting and from that came this small series of outhouses. |
"Buildings" |
| The buildings that make up the sea side town can be found here.
Curently you can find the houses of Lady Bloomburry & Nylon Ykes and the houses of
Nucklebones & Merchant Smoothes. Latest addition is the "Gatehouse". |
"Pavement" |
| Having buildings and docks, it is time to get decent pavement as well.
The first stone structures are cut and the first pavement/street/gutter sections are made. |
"The Lamppost Project" |
| Finding a lamppost that in the right scale and style turned out to be difficult.
I decided to make my own and I am glad I did. |
"Ships" |
| "The naval theme"; Cought by the pirates theme the imagination got wild again.
It all started with a tiny boat in 2004 and from there things started to develop. Larger vessels up to
the Buccaneer ship. The latest adition are the three row boats and the "Botter". |
"Wooden Barrel Submarines" |
| The age of the barrel subs is here: The little wooden one man subs sneak towards
their prey in order to rip open the hull of the enemy ships. Once the large battleships has gone to
the illustrious depth of the sea, the pirate ships can take over and attacks the merchant fleet. |
"Modular Docks" |
| "The dock section shows all the individual arts that make up the docks.
We start off with a simple straight and curved piece and from there I extend the range.
The “Bridge” and “Harbor door” section are added as well as the “Pier”. |
The Wild Wild West |
| "The Wild Wild West" is a theme project for the entire year 2005.
This theme includes buildings as well as miniatures and is started because of the fun I have in playing a game called
"Wanted: Dead or Alive". |
The City Plan |
| "The City Plan" is a project that
consists out of 16 floor. (or city tiles) The idea
behind this is to be able to make different lay outs so the
games you play doesn't look the same all the time. |
The Ruined Chapel |
| "The Ruined Chapel" is one of the more difficult projects.
Besides the use of the normal building blocks there are also custom made building
parts in this project. |
The Tavern |
| The Ruined Tavern is the first large multi layer project I made using Hirst Arts
Castlemolds ™. The idea comes from a cardboard house from the “Mordheim” game. |
The Ruined Bridge House |
| "The Bridge House" was the house of a wealthy mercant.
It was common for the middleclass people to have houses that
consisted out of more than one building. |
The Ruined House |
| The Ruined House is a simple rectangular
building. If you really want to make a city that looks like
a city, you have to built a number of these small houses and some even
smaller than this one. |
The Ruined Watchtower |
| "The Ruined Watchtower" was one of the many City Guard Watchtowers along the city
limits. They were built to defend the city but also came to use during revolts. |
The Venetian Tea House |
| The "Venetian Tea House" was once
situated on the harbour site from where the merchants could
see their ships set sail to the corners of the world.
Nowadays rich people come here to have afternoon tea. |
The Dice Roller |
| "The Diceroller" is a multi purpose
building within a game. Fist of all it is a building like
any other building to game on. Besides that this building can be used to roll the dice. |
The Wizards Tower |
| Unlike most other projects on the buildings page, I built
this tower out of card board, foam board, paper, wood, clay
and sand. A fully scratch build tower. |
Wizards Workout |
| Wizards Workout (The Emerald School of Magic)
Winner of the 4th Hirst Arts Design Derby (HADD4) with a complete written history. |
Hills |
| I designed this piece of scenery for a great Wargame Weekend. We needed a hilly piece of terrain that could be used
as “Hobbiton”. |
The Castle |
| This project is the greatest and most challenging I’ve done so far.
Actually it isn’t that big. Its even a bit off scale
comparing to the miniatures some manufacturers produce today.
The castle is fully scratch build and please looks closely at the court yard |
Hirst Arts Originals |
| The Hirst Arts Originals section is where I display the buildings as they are designed by Bruce Hirst.
These buildings are designed to help people on their way when they buy a certain mold. |
Amon Sul |
| The custom built watchtower of “Amon Sul” a great challenge since almost the entire structure is custom build.
In this project I first used textured silicone strips to produce custom building blocks. |
Helms Deep |
| This article is about my Helms Deep
project. I will try to explain how I build this monster so
this means lots of pictures and text. The first project build out of resin. |
First Pirates Table |
| The first Pirates table I made. Right after playing the game at the "Origins"convention and when I got back home
I started working on this table since I had so much fun playing this Pirates game. |
